Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the murder of Twinsburg Police Office Joshua Miktarian. Ashford Thompson has been indicted on a charge of aggravated murder of a police officer, which carries the death penalty in Ohio.
Thompson filed the appeal July 26, 2011 to be heard by the Ohio Supreme Court. The Ohio Supreme Court heard an appeal on 4/8/14 from convicted murderer Ashford Lamar Thompson in the July 13, 2008, murder of Twinsburg Police Canine Officer Joshua Miktarian.
