On 11/28/15 Officer James Comstock and K9 Pogo, a certified Explosive / firearm detection K9 were assigned to assist with the execution of a search warrant of a vehicle. The Vehicle had been utilized by a suspect in a homicide where a firearm was used but as of that date the firearm had never been recovered. Officer Comstock commanded K9 Pogo to search and upon doing so, K9 Pogo gave an indication to the dash placing his nose on the radio area, On scene Officers were unable to locate anything and mechanics were called in to remove the dash and upon doing so a loaded Glock Model 20 10mm was located inside a hidden compartment that was designed to avoid detection. The same make and caliber as the weapon used in the homicide.
