Charles M. “Chuck” Scollan, 80, of Glastonbury, passed away at Hartford Hospital on November 30th after a long struggle with respiratory disease. Chuck grew up with his family in East Hartford, graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Hartford in 1962, after which he joined the Air Force and proudly served in the Air Police Canine Unit charged with securing and guarding the B-52 SAC bombers on around-the-clock readiness alert during the Cold War. Following military service, he worked a number of jobs requiring skills in the building trades, the most notable being physical plant manager for Easter Seals Outdoor Educational Center, a rural building complex with facilities and summer cabins modified for disabled children on a sprawling campus in Hebron. In later years he was employed at Colonial Village Apartments in Glastonbury as the supervisor of the repair and maintenance for building and grounds.
