Deputy Jeff Hermanson passed unexpectedly on 6/22/22 while on duty when he began to feel ill following an arrest of a stolen car suspect. Hermanson proceeded to get examined at the hospital and suffered from a heart issue that led to his sudden passing. Hermanson joined the department part-time in 2001 before moving to a full-time position in 2007, later becoming the department’s K9 handler for K9 Rudy and K9 Mac.
