Officer George Aguilar, 62, died on 1/13/20 after battling cancer. Aguilar started with the Bryan Police Department in July 1980. He served as a patrol officer and later as a detective and worked at Lamar and Bryan High Schools as a School Resource and K9 Officer with the DARE program. Aguilar retired in 2015 after more than 34 1/2 years of service to his community. He was awarded six commendations during his career, as well as a citation and obtained a master peace officer’s license. After his retirement from Bryan Police Department in 2015  , he went to work for the Brazos County Associate Courts, as a bailiff until his passing. He is survived by three sons Nicolas, Michael, Gregorio and his fiancé, Florencia Lerma.
