Hartford police K-9 Officer Holly Donahue,55, died on 10/11/23 after a four-year battle with melanoma after be diagnosed in 2019. She was on the scuba team, and was the department’s first female canine officer. “She was decorated with many accolades. Donahue joined the Army two weeks after graduating from Southington High School in 1985. While in the Army she became a jump master, jumping out of airplanes. She retired as a 2nd lieutenant from the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C. Her K9 partners were Champ and Moffett. She was also trained in crisis intervention. Most recently, Donahue worked at the state Department of Motor Vehicles. Donahue was burial with military honors.
