Officer Richard Kenneth Brown

Richard Kenneth Brown, 70 of Portsmouth, Rhode Island passed peacefully in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family on December 4, 2022. Richard is survived by his wife Linda of 50 years; daughters Jennifer (Mark) Neale and Tammy (John) Krones; son Ronald Brown. Richard served as a Sergeant in the Air Force for four years, 1971-1975. He served in South Korea and then was stationed in South Dakota. His specialty was training dogs for the K9 division of the military police. Richard earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Roger Williams College in 1987 while working at Mine Safety Appliances Company, where he worked for 12 years after his military service. He then worked for Acushnet Company (Titleist), for 26 years, retiring in July of 2014. While at Acushnet Company he managed several multi-million dollar capital projects in New Bedford, MA and Thailand. Richard joined the Knghts of Columbus in 2008. He was a member of the Father Christopher Rooney Council 3618 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. As a member of the Council, Richard served as Grand Knight and Treasurer.
