Thomas Chagnon, who became one of Enfield’s first canine officers in the early 1980s. Chagnon joined the Enfield Police Department in 1976, shortly before institution of the canine program. He was partnered with a German shepherd known as SatanChagnon retired in 1998.
The Connecticut Police Work Dog Association Inc. does not represent any specific law enforcement agency, nor do we advocate any specific method of training. We have the expertise to assist any law enforcement agency in establishing a canine unit, canine policy, and canine unit procedures.
