PC Stephen Powell, 51, his cause of death had been announced at an inquest heard at Cheshire coroner’s court on 1/24/24. PC Stephen Powell, from Great Sankey, was found dead at Oven Back Farm in Croft, on September 17, 2023.At an inquest, area coroner Victoria Davis confirmed that Stephen’s death had been ruled a suicide. The 51-year-old’s body was discovered by a farm worker who raised the alarm, and was later identified by a colleague.He became the first police officer in the country to train his own dog, a German shepherd named Frank, to join him on the beat back in 2012.He was one of six dog handlers covering Warrington, Widnes and Runcorn.He was also based at Warrington Police Station. PC Powell has been a serving officer for 21 years and also did work for a German shepherd rescue charity.
