K9 Demos

Our K-9 teams perform approximately 400 demonstrations annually in communities throughout Connecticut.

Our demos exhibit basic obedience, agility, article search, simulated criminal apprehension, and mock narcotic searches, helping children build trust toward officers and learn about drug awareness. We strive to promote an atmosphere of community awareness and positive public relations through these free events.

We will make every effort to provide a K-9 demo for your school or event, depending on date, time, and availability of one of our K-9 teams. Keep in mind that emergencies arise, and K-9 teams may have to cancel an engagement to assist the community. We apologize if this occurs and an alternate date may be arranged.

Please also note that, on occasion, we may have a photographer on site taking photos at these events to be posted on our site. Teachers or parents may also submit photos for consideration.

The Connecticut Police Work Dog Association Inc. does not represent any specific law enforcement agency, nor do we advocate any specific method of training. We have the expertise to assist any law enforcement agency in establishing a canine unit, canine policy, and canine unit procedures. We can provide assistance in handler and canine selection, and can assist your agency locate a credible training program.
